For those who forgot, I initially called at 1:33 for a pickup. By the time I got into my house, the clock read 3:01. Even in heavy traffic, it never takes more than 20 minutes to go from where I work to where I live.
I was told at 6:39 am that a cab would be here in 20 mins it’s now 7:37 and the cab is still not here I call a couple times 2 figure out when this cab will be here told me the same thing all 3 times “couple mins have someone in the area” but still no cab probably the worse sense of timing I’ve ever experienced in my life the male dispatcher is a dick I called 2 figure out how much my 40 min late cab was gonna he has me on hold for about 2 mins then gets on the phones and says I give up and hangs up the phone on me poor effort in satisfying a paying customer and the attitude is another level if anyone is looking for transportation this company should be your last resort I’d consider walking bus different cab company or uber before calling these guys absolutely unacceptable
Edit: I didn't get picked up until 4:10pm! I hour and 25 minutes later!
On his way to the last pickup, one of the passengers pointed out that he'd missed their turn--they weren't far from where I work either, it seemed. He responded by yelling at them, insisting that he knew where he was going and that they did not, and reminding them that he had another pickup to make. Once he made the pickup, he started the rotation of drop-offs. I listened as he contacted dispatch; dispatch told him that while the fare would normally be $15, he was only going to charge me $14 (how generous!). The driver relayed this information to me, after telling me I would be the second person dropped off.
As he pulled up to my house, he asked me which one was mine. I told him a few times, even saying "it's the [this color] house, on the right side--my side--of the street". (I had to tell him more than once, as he was about to cross into oncoming traffic to drop me off across the street.) He didn't bother repeating the fare to me (which is fine, because I knew it), so I handed him the $20 from my purse. (I had spent the entire ride debating whether or not I should pay; I was about to just jump out of the car without handing him any money, but I worried that maybe he would challenge me, and at that point I was too tired to car about losing the $14.) He told me to hold on while he got me my change, and handed me $6. Needless to say, I kept all of it.
First I called at 10:30 looking for a ride and they said they won't have a car for an hour and therefore I would miss my doctor's appointment. So I saw if my doctor could reschedule which they did for 3 p.m.. I called back around 10:45 a.m. and made an appointment for 2:45 p.m.(4 hours in advance) since I only live about 5 minutes away from the doctor. I stupidly said they could get there at 2:50 as the woman dispatcher said 2:45 is a busy time for them. I did make sure to inform them that I needed to get to a doctor's appointment though at 3pm and if they had to come earlier than that was fine. She put me on hold for several minutes and came back to say that 2:45 would be fine. I went outside at 2:45 to wait for the cab. When none came, at 2:55 I called to make sure someone was coming and the male dispatcher said two cars had broken down but he has one in town and that he'll get someone as soon as possible. ***If they are going to be late, they should have the courtesy to let the client know! It is now 3:30 (45 minutes after the pre-arranged pickup time) and there's still NO ONE HERE! and needless to say I'm very late for my doctor's appointment. Do NOT recommend!
I waited outside in front of the building, making sure I was in a spot where the driver could see me when they arrived. I played around on my phone to keep busy, frequently switching my focus to the parking lot's entrance in case the car was coming in. I was willing to wait--I know that late spring/summer is a very busy time of year, and that the main roads were likely to be congested with traffic.
I waited another 20 minutes before a car finally arrived. As I walked up, I saw there were two passengers in the backseat. The driver called to me through the window, asking me to sit in the front seat. After getting settled and telling him my address, he told me he had one more pickup to make before we'd all be taken home--we were going to have a full cab.
About 35-40 minutes after my first phone call, I decided to call again. I was worried that maybe I'd given the wrong information, or that they'd forgotten to send a car. The dispatcher was very apologetic; he insisted that they were busy, but that I had not been forgotten. He re-confirmed my pickup location, my phone number (which must've come up on caller ID, since I hadn't given it to him), and told me that he'd call as soon as the car was outside. He also didn't want me waiting outside in the sun too long, but that ship had sailed.
I'm someone who has used Lindy's Taxi services multiple times over the years. I am currently in a position where I do not have my own car, so I am reliant on public transportation or carpools to get around. I was in a position today where I needed to use public transportation, and since my bus route was cut earlier this year, this meant calling for a ride. I clocked out from my job at 1:32, pushed my way out the staff door, and pulled up my call logs--Lindy's phone number was one of the numbers I'd dialed not too long ago. After calling and being put on hold for a moment, I requested a pickup and gave all the necessary information. They did not take down my phone number or give me an ETA, but I figured that was normal--they'd done it enough times before, the dispatcher confirmed my location before hanging up with me, and it never took them too long to get to where I was.
I have only ever had one or two other bad experiences using Lindy, but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that the next time I'm in this situation, I'll just hang out at work until someone can get me, even if I wind up spending 4 hours sitting in the staff lounge.
They only want cash. The receipt the passenger fill it out. And for a ride that normally cost 35, they charge 48.
Told the driver location I called 30 minutes minutes in advance of the time that I actually needed to be picked up was told I have a car in 15 minutes 45 minutes later a car finally arrives waited for a total of an hour and missed the Long Island Railroad train that I plant to catch when I informed the dispatcher that I was going to the railroad station he confirmed the time of the departing train with me and assured me that I have the car before then. Please don't waste your time with this company. If they lose enough business Dell reevaluate how they handle customers.
